Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 1988) was an American actress, singer and dancer. She started her Broadway career performing in musicals like Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. in You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in an Play. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning directors as well as actors and producers throughout her professional career. Ashford will be next starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently filming for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be released on Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway on March 20, 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The group behind Hamilton producers Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the helm of the show. Ashford's most recent role was as Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. It is based upon the national scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. She was in two seasons of popular CBS comedy B Positive. Also, she was a part of the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Her additional Broadway performances includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and is now dividing her time between Los Angeles, and New York.
